// Breakfast is my favorite \\
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. I think the biggest reason I have such a love affair with this holiday is because my family is all present and in the moment. We eat my Grandma’s homemade fudge and frosted cookies, drink egg nog (which may or may not be spiked… hehe) and enjoy each other’s company. This year I didn’t go to my Aunt Fiona’s annual Christmas Eve party, but I went with my dad’s side of the family to eat tamales, open gifts, smash a piñata, and enjoy their company. Now, this year was a bit different for me considering I am normally not the best person to ask when it comes to what I want for gifts. I usually just let my aunts and uncles surprise me because I am horrible at compiling lists. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a broke college student or what, but this year was completely different. I had so many desired gifts (most of which were books and shoes), that it was (shockingly) easy for me to voice my opinions and thoughts about what I wanted. Some of you wanted to see what I got and from where, so here are a few collages of my Christmas loot. (Disclaimer: I was a bit flighty this time around, so I have a severe lack of photos to share.)
Being a bibliophile, I am always on the lookout for fun or interesting books that aren’t always long novels. Urban Outfitters never fails to provide me with a long list of books that can give me a laugh or distract me from the stress of school. These four books were given to me by my Aunt Fiona & my cousin. I am so looking forward to reading these and I’m so happy I got them!
FOR THE HOME
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved hot chocolate, especially as a dessert since I’m not a fan of really, really rich desserts after an equally rich dinner course. I usually drink my cocoa out of a mug, but sometimes it’s easier to just put it in a tumbler so it doesn’t spill on my laptop or around my desk area. I usually write in the dark (on my laptop obviously) and I have longed for a candle to make my writing space smell sweet. Of course, I chose the smell of Angel Food Cake because it’s my weakness. Also pictured are cable clips from Urban Outfitters that I just started using and I can honestly say that they are a God-send and keep my charger cables pretty and organized.
Some of these (the Aveeno and the mascara) are gifts I bought at Vons prior to Christmas, but the lip palette and the SPF Primer (from MAC Cosmetics) were gifts from my Aunt Saski because I’m trying this new thing where I actually put forth effort to apply makeup… Wish me luck!
Invariably, I’ll be at a loss as to what I want for Christmas so the safest option is clothes, however, I definitely have enough. Sooo, I decided that shoes were the next best thing. Especially since I need more shoes that are easier to put on (Yes, even shoes have to be “handicap accessible”.)

This Christmas was truly magical and such a whirlwind. Thank you so much to my amazing, wonderful family for giving me all the love in the world and showering this holiday season with a whole new batch of memories to have for a lifetime.
